MMc401.7 Graphic Design & Illustration

My previous assignment was to research my ideas and come up with final ideas for either of the two ‘Illustrate a classic novel’ projects.

Now I am to illustrate these ideas in any way I choose; I have decided to sketch out my ideas and scan them onto the computer.

Frankenstein


1^st Idea.

I love the caricatures in this short animation and I think that they give off a dark and frightening atmosphere and that would be perfect for my Frankenstein illustrations for the classic novel.

2^nd Idea.

I love Chiara Bautista’s work and her simplistic sketches and decided for my second idea to similarly do sketches - inspired by her work - of my Frankenstein illustration’s .

 

3^Rd Idea Simplistic illustrations of objects and items which could be linked to the novel – things which are in the novel itself.

 

 

 

The Great Gatsby

1^st Idea

 This typography style is one of my favourite final ideas because it would look great within the novel as it focuses on the text creating an image – which I believe would work really well.

 

 

 2^nd IdeaMy second idea was staging my own 1920 style photographs with flapper girls and men driving those old fashioned cars.

 3^rd IdeaMy final idea was to just do simplistic illustrations of things like pearl necklaces, champagne flutes, and the green light.
